Folkestone-based enfranchisement experts The Leasehold Solutions Group have announced plans for Kent’s first ever ‘Leasehold Roadshow’. The free-to-attend event will offer specialist advice to owners of leasehold properties caught up in the ‘leasehold scandal’, who may be struggling with issues including rising ground rents, onerous service charges and lease extensions.
The Leasehold Roadshow Kent will take place at The Grand in Folkestone on Saturday 9 November from 11am to 4pm.
The event will feature informative seminars and one-to-one meetings with project management, legal and valuation experts, to give leaseholders the chance to discuss specific issues and gain free advice from qualified and experienced leasehold lawyers and surveyors. The event is open to owners of flats and leasehold or so-called ‘fleecehold’ houses.
Louie Burns, Managing Director, said: “With around 120,000 leasehold properties across the county, there are numerous leaseholders in Kent facing financial exploitation at the hands of freeholders who are out to maximise their profits.
“Over the years we have supported thousands of people to take back control of their property and free themselves from the numerous costly and well-documented problems of leasehold ownership.
“Extending a lease or buying the freehold is the best way to protect the value of a property and make it more attractive to potential purchasers, as the value of a leasehold property falls as the number of years left on the lease reduces.
“Our Roadshow will help leaseholders to consider their options and choose the best course of action according to their situation, whether that’s to extend their lease or buy their freehold and take back control of their own financial destiny.”
Places are limited and must be booked in advance. For more information or to book a place at this FREE event visit https://www.theleaseholdroadshow.co.uk/kent-2019/
